Our Story

Wooden logs burning with bright orange and yellow flames against a dark background.

Some of my earliest memories are of splitting firewood with my father.

I grew up on acreage where heating our home wasn’t as simple as turning up the thermostat. Every year, we cut, hauled, split, stacked, and carried the wood that would keep our family warm through the winter. Looking back, I realize those days were never just about firewood.

They were about family. They were about responsibility. They were about taking pride in hard work and understanding that the best things in life are worth the effort.

Some of my favorite memories weren’t made while splitting wood. They were made after the work was finished—sitting together around a warm fire, sharing stories, laughing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Without realizing it, those moments were shaping the vision for what Mantle & Oak would one day become.

Today, not much has changed. My wife and I still find ourselves ending many evenings on our back porch after the day has slowed down. Sometimes we’re sitting in front of a fire. Other evenings we’re simply enjoying the quiet, talking about life, our dreams, and the blessings we’ve been given. Those conversations have become some of the moments I treasure most.

Our two daughters have grown up around those same fires. They’ve roasted marshmallows, laughed until long after dark, chased lightning bugs across the yard, and created memories that I pray they’ll one day share with their own families. Those evenings remind me that a home is far more than a place you live. It’s where your story unfolds.

For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of helping homeowners transform their properties through professional landscaping. During those years, I learned that a beautiful landscape isn’t the destination—it’s the setting.

It’s where birthdays are celebrated. Where children chase lightning bugs. Where neighbors become lifelong friends. Where families gather after a long week. Where ordinary evenings quietly become the moments we remember forever.

The longer I worked in landscaping, the more I realized that those spaces deserved to be enjoyed long after the sun went down. Thoughtfully designed outdoor lighting extends the beauty of a home into the evening. A carefully built fire invites people to slow down, pull up a chair, and stay a little longer.

That’s where conversations happen. That’s where traditions begin. That’s where memories are made.

The older I get, the more I realize that the greatest investment we’ll ever make isn’t in our homes—it’s in the people we welcome into them. A beautiful home means very little if it isn’t filled with life, laughter, and the people we love. We simply believe thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces can help create more of those moments. That’s why Mantle & Oak was founded.

Our Mission

Thoughtfully crafted to elevate what matters most.

Our mission isn’t simply to deliver premium kiln-dried firewood or design beautiful outdoor lighting. Our mission is to create spaces that bring people together.

The name Mantle & Oak reflects the values that guide everything we do.

A mantle represents more than warmth. It represents stewardship—the responsibility of caring for something valuable and carrying it forward with purpose and integrity. Every customer places their trust in us, and we consider it a privilege to honor that trust with craftsmanship, honesty, and exceptional service.

Oak represents strength, endurance, and timeless character. Like the strongest trees, we believe trust is built slowly, earned consistently, and rooted in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

Those aren’t just words to us. They’re the standard by which we operate.

Every piece of firewood we deliver. Every light we install. Every customer we serve. Every promise we make.

We believe luxury isn’t about extravagance. Luxury is craftsmanship. Luxury is attention to detail. Luxury is showing up when we say we will. Luxury is treating your home with the same care and respect we would expect for our own.

Our hope is that years from now, long after the fire has burned low and the lights have gone out for the evening, the spaces we’ve helped create will still be filled with laughter, conversation, and memories shared with the people who matter most.

Because in the end, we aren’t in the firewood business. We aren’t in the lighting business. We’re in the business of helping families make the most of the place they call home.

And that is a responsibility—and a privilege—we are honored to carry.
